Description:
Neem tree is a flowering tree species that is related to mahogany with an appearance similar to jujube tree. For centuries this has been a vital part of Indian culture. Commercially the neem tree is used to produce neem oil, pesticide, hemorrhoids cream, other cosmetics. Neem leaf is used for leprosy, eye disorders, bloody nose, intestinal worms, stomach upset, loss of appetite, skin ulcers, diseases of the heart and blood vessels (cardiovascular disease), fever, diabetes, gum disease (gingivitis), and liver problems. The leaf is also used for birth control and to cause abortions.
Tips for Planting and Watering Needs:
Plant in full sun during the mid to late September when the highest temperature reaches 35 °C. Water once daily during early winter. During the colder days of winter, you could water once every two to three days. Make sure not to water when there is rain. During early summer water once a day, while during the hotter days of summer water twice daily in the early morning, preferably before sun rise, and after sun set. Water once the top 3 cm of the soil is dried out.
